Lewis Family Portraits

A little while back our friends had their first baby boy, Ephraim. We suggested to them that we take his newborn baby picture and a family photo. They agreed. It only took three years and almost two more babies, but we finally got those photos done! They're expecting their first girl now. Congratulations guys!

Klayton & Lindsey are always fun and we enjoy hanging out with their family quite a bit, even if Ephraim's a bit of a stinker about getting his picture taken. @Ephraim: Way to hang in there, bud!

One of the things that I enjoy the most about Ezra is how engaging he is. He seems to always look deep into your eyes. Don't you love it?!

Ephraim was busy playing hard until he decided to flash me a look!

If anything can make Ephraim smile, it's his Dad!
(He's the coolest, didn't you know? Just ask Ephraim.)

Ephraim LOVES being outside and finding cool things.
After he and Ezra found these big leaves he had a good time playing with his.
A good enough time that we were even able to get a good picture or two!

He even SMILED!!!

I have wanted to do portraits of Klayton & Lindsey together for about as long as we've known them, so I'm really glad that we got the opportunity to do this session.
Aren't they just a beautiful couple!

Klayton & Lindsey, you really have one of the most loving, beautiful famlies I can think of. Judy and I are proud to know you and blessed to be your friends. May God continue to bless you and may He grow little Ziva Jewel into a healthy, strong little girl.

Be blessed,
-Mark

Hyde Family Portraits

Last Sunday we met up with my wife's friend, Kate, and her family to take some family pictures at Bothell Landing Park. It was a beautiful day!

Shawn and Kate's daughter Christina is 1 1/2 and really seemed to enjoy the camera! We got such a kick out of how she posed for pictures! :o)

We got a few cute pictures of the entire family too...

Shawn & Kate, I enjoyed meeting you both and hope that you enjoy your pictures!

Cheers!

Taiyo's Senior Session

"Are you here for senior pictures?", the stranger asked assertively.
"If you're Taiyo I am." Sure enough, this was Taiyo and his older sister Emi. This was the first time we'd ever met. And, since neither of us had ever been to Gasworks Park before, we decided to familiarize ourselves with its environment. After meandering about the place for a few minutes we commenced our session, eventually being serenaded by the marching band practicing on the other side of the park. It was almost like a sound track for our session... Almost.

At any rate, we had fun and got to know each other a bit in the mean time. I found out that we are both from families of seven. Well, ok... I have seven people in my family and Taiyo and Emi have seven in theirs. Seven kids, that is. I suppose that's close enough. :) I also found out that Taiyo is in student government and is taking on a role this year with more responsibility and much more commitment than the one he was in last year. Very cool.

Something else I picked up on is that Emi loves photography... which came in really handy 'cause, as it turned out, I was in need of an assistant. Thanks, Emi! You did great!

I suppose that's enough background... Let's see some photos!

Taiyo, it was a lot of fun hanging out with you and Emi yesterday. I hope you and your family like this taste of the images we created.
Emi, thanks for being such a willing impromptu assistant. :0)

Ryder's 1-Year-Old Session

UPDATE! - Here's a small version of Ryder's slide show. If you want to see the full size version (and I know you do!) you can catch it by clicking here: http://www.richimaging.net/Slideshow/RyderOneYearSession/

So, I have to admit, I'm really starting to enjoy working with babies! This past Sunday I had a 1-year session with Ryder and his parents, Ross & Mindi. The sun was out, the beach was clear, and there was a slight breeze to top it all off. It doesn't get any better than that! ...Especially when you've got such a cute kid to have fun with!

Here are a few of the shots we made of Ryder down at the beach. Believe me, it was not easy to single these out! He also seemed to be quite at home, which really made things go so smoothly:

I think it's safe to say that Ryder was having just as much fun as his parents and I were!
Here's Ryder giving a look that has just a hint of dapper, plus a little tongue :)See how proud he looks standing all by himself!
Mindi & Ross, I really had a great time with you and Ryder. He's such a handsome little guy! I know he will be a blessing as he grows with you in your loving home.

Cheers,
-Mark

Newborn Session with David Danger!

Before I get into the session we just did with our friends Joey, Beth, and little baby David Danger, I want to give you a little background info...

A few months back my wife Judy and I were talking about starting to do newborn photo sessions. I distinctly remember telling her that I didn't want to do them because I thought they would be too big of a hassle and would not be any fun.

Well, David Danger has just proved me wrong in a big way! We had such a great time with him and his parents on Monday night that I just cannot wait to do our next newborn session! (Yes, that's two exclamation points in a row...excessive exclamation mark warning!)

So, here are a few selections from the session that I thought you'd want to see. He is such a beautiful boy! Take a gander:

I know David was having fun because Joey said this is the first time he'd seen him smile - EVER!
I think this is my favorite shot from the evening. He's so content just hanging out on Dad's arm. And check out those captivating eyes! :-D

And, yes, he does love to snuggle with Mom, too:

Joey and Beth, we had such a great time with you and little David Danger. I hope you really love these as much as I do - he's such a wonderful little guy! Congratulations!

Cheers,
-Mark
